Deborah Cartmell is Professor Emeritus at De Montfort University, Leicester, UK, Honorary Fellow and trustee of the British Shakespeare Association, founding editor of the journals Adaptation and Shakespeare and founding chair of the Association of Adaptation Studies. She has published twenty books on Shakespeare and Adaptation Studies.

Peter J. Smith is Professor Emeritus at Nottingham Trent University, UK. His publications include Social Shakespeare: Aspects of Renaissance Dramaturgy and Contemporary Society (1995) and Between Two Stools: Scatology and its Representations in English Literature (2012). A former trustee and treasurer of the British Shakespeare Association, he is also one of the editors-in-chief of Cahiers Élisabéthains.
