John F. Marszalek is executive director of the Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library and author of multiple books, including biographies of William T. Sherman, Henry W. Halleck, and George W. Murray. He is also coauthor (with Douglas L. Conner) of A Black Physician's Story: Bringing Hope to Mississippi, published by University Press of Mississippi. David S. Nolen is associate professor in the Mississippi State University Libraries. He served as humanities reference librarian at MSU Libraries from 2008 to 2013 and began work as an editor with the Ulysses S. Grant Memoirs project in 2013. Louie P. Gallo is assistant editor at the Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library. He previously worked at the National McKinley Birthplace Museum and Memorial. Frank J. Williams is a retired chief justice of the Supreme Court of Rhode Island. He is founding chair of The Lincoln Forum and author, coauthor, or editor of numerous books. He and his wife donated the Frank and Virginia Williams Collection of Lincolniana to Mississippi State University in 2017.
