Colin Reid is a museum curator, researcher and writer with more than 40 years' experience in the heritage sector. He has held senior leadership roles including Head of Culture at Hartlepool and Director of Culture and Tourism in Oxford, where he gained national recognition for innovation in the interpretation and display of museum collections. His work has been recognised through multiple award commendations, including Museum of the Year and Living Museum of the Year.

From 2010 to 2018, Colin led and delivered major cultural and museum projects across the Middle East, including high-profile exhibitions and large-scale interpretive developments.

He has published widely within the cultural sector and has written and scripted more than thirty exhibitions, ranging from individual galleries to entire museums. His work focuses on making history accessible and engaging, bringing overlooked stories to light and exploring the enduring human connection to objects.

The Digger's Diary reflects his long-standing interest in the stories objects carry and the lives they represent. He is currently working on a second book, Curator's Tales, exploring the human stories behind museum collections.
