This research emerged in the context of the Arab Spring, born from suffering, reflection, and contemplation on the history and reality of inhumane human relations, characterized by violence in most historical periods. This led the researcher and others to reconsider the roots of these issues and attempt to answer fundamental questions concerning the nature of humanity, social identities, the social contract, the relationship between the individual and the community, the legitimacy of the state, and its system of governance. At dawn in 2017, verse 13 of Surah Al-Hujurat (the verse of mutual recognition) caught his attention. He found it to be a comprehensive, universal concept containing answers to the aforementioned fundamental questions. From it, he derived a way of life, a social contract, and a vision for an unprecedented political society, which he termed the "State of Mutual Recognition."
