The language of Stacy Ardis, is the language of America. Not the English of England or the America of another time, but here right now. While her "Lovely and Suffering" collection is more about the strange last pandemic year, or the divisive last four presidential years, "Follow Me on This" takes on a larger canvas, delving deeper into the language and culture of Black America, at a more deliberate and measured, but no less intense and urgent, pace. Stacy Dyson is a Black woman poet/playwright/performance coach. Currently living in New Mexico (and actively plotting to get back to San Diego as soon as possible), she spends her time "trying to make a way out of no way". She is also founder and lead poet for TESORO, an international women's poetry group. "We're called "firesingers" for a reason. The words challenge, purify, provide the chance to re-build. Because as a woman, there is truly no other way.
