Chris Riddell, the 2015-2017 UK Children's Laureate, is an accomplished artist and the political cartoonist for the Observer. His children's books have won a number of major prizes, including the 2001, 2004 and 2016 CILIP Kate Greenaway Medals. Goth Girl and the Ghost of a Mouse also won the Costa Children's Book Award 2013. Chris has been honored with an OBE in recognition of his illustration and charity work. He lives in Brighton with his family.

Rhiannon Oliver trained as an actress at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and has worked at Shakespeare's Globe, National Theatre, National Theatre of Wales, Off-Broadway, and on UK and international tours. She started writing poetry for children in 2020 and has been widely published in magazines, websites, and anthologies. Fresh is her debut poetry collection. She loves walking everywhere and eating chips. Her poetry has been published in The Caterpillar, Northern Gravy, The Dirigible Balloon and elsewhere, as well as in Firefly's And I Hear Dragons anthology.
