Dean Edwards burst onto the chef circuit in 2006 when he came second on BBC's MasterChef. He then worked at the two Michelin-starred Midsummer House in Cambridge before returning to his home city of Bristol. He decided that he wanted to champion achievable budget-friendly recipes that ordinary families could cook every day. The dad-of-two takes inspiration from across the globe but always uses ingredients that are familiar to most. He posts hugely popular recipe videos to more than 1.4M dedicated fans across Instagram, TikTok and Facebook as @deanedwardschef.
Dean has returned to MasterChef many times as a guest judge, critiquing the new contestants' food alongside other former champions. He has also appeared on many television programs, including This Morning, Lorraine, Steph's Packed Lunch, John and Lisa's Weekend Kitchen, Take on the Takeaway, Market Kitchen and The Big Eat. In 2020, Dean was also at the centre of Chef vs Cornershop. In 2024, he starred in Air Fryers vs Microwaves: Which is Better? and in 2025 The Air Fryer Diet. |
