At the age of 12, Lorelai Kuecker started her quilting journey with one goal in mind, to make a Quilt of Valor for her mother. With no pattern and very little experience, she was determined to "make it work" with her 5th grade math skills. After quite a bit of struggles and plenty of corrections, she achieved her goal. It wasn't until that quilt was on the longarm and she experienced the power of that machine that she realized she had found her place. From that day forward it has been a whirlwind of classes, projects, and YouTube tutorials. In 3 short years she has quickly become known for her custom quilting talents and her quilted garments and bags.
Lorelai has won awards at the 2023 Kansas City Regional Quilt Festival, the 2024 Branson AQS Quilt Show, and has had a quilt displayed in the 2024 Houston International Quilt Festival. She was featured in the June 2023 edition of
Fons and Porter Quick and Easy Quilts and has had the honor of collaborating with The Ruby Start Society, Northcott Fabrics, and the Quilted Cow. She has been asked to present her Trunk Show at the 2025 Branson AQS Quilt Show and will be teaching youth-oriented classes at the 2025 Kansas City Regional Quilt Festival. In her spare time, when she isn't working on her dual credit classes, she plays French horn in the Kansas City Youth Orchestra and is a member of the CenterStage Players theatre group where her favorite role has been Cinderella in the production of "Into the Woods, Jr."
Ultimately, Lorelai's goal is to expand the boundaries of quilting to a broader demographic and into new avenues of creation. She started Pigs in a Blanket Quilting at the age of 12 and has skyrocketed into fiber arts and quilting industries. She is followed on Instagram by Moda, Tula Pink, Northcott, Missouri Star, Sassafraslane, and more. She resides in Missouri.
