When a young man wants to become the world's next big supervillain, there's only one place he can turn. Dr. Debaucherous was long thought dead, but Vick Burgess found him, hiding under Omega City in a secret laboratory, toiling and plotting his revenge on a society that revolves around the superheroes that forced him into his exile. Now that Vick's found his mentor, he begins his training, running errands for the eccentrically evil supervillain, each task building up to something he can't comprehend.
Vick finds himself in a whole new world full of gray areas, rioting with anti-superhero protestors, getting chest-deep into a group of villainous conspiracy theorists, pressuring wannabe henchpersons, spying on a jingoistic pro-hero publication, working shoulder-to-shoulder with heroes and criminals alike, and coming in and out of a tryst with one of Omega's wealthy elite. All the while, Dr. Debaucherous watches from afar, pulling the strings of Vick's life, keeping his darkest secrets and schemes to himself. Can the supervillain keep his protégé on a short leash, or will the two find themselves coming to odds with each other?
Daniel Aegan once again delves into the world of villainpunk, creating a world of good versus evil that unabashedly reflects our own. Who are the real villains? Can anyone be trusted? What's up with the weird insectile creature lurking about in Dr. Debaucherous's lair?
