As a Lieutenant Colonel the KGB's Foreign Intelligence Service, worked in the USSR Embassy in London in 1980s. Since 1992 - businessman, founder and beneficial owner of financial & industrial group National Reserve Corporation, including National Reserve Bank, huge real estate assets in Russia, Switzerland and Italy, enterprises in aviation, agriculture, engineering, catering etc. Ex-MP - deputy of the State Duma (Russian Parliament) in 2003-2007, mayoral candidate of Moscow (2003). Media mogul, proprietor of the UK newspapers The Independent and The London Evening Standard, London Live TV channel, shareholder and investor of investigative newspaper Novaya Gazeta in Russia.
