Naila Keleta-Mae is Principal Investigator of the Black and Free research-creation project, Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Race, Gender and Performance and an Associate Professor at the University of Waterloo. She has research, teaching and artistic expertise in race, gender and Black expressive culture, and has written and commentated on Beyoncé for media outlets including Noisey, CBC and the BBC.
