A social emotional learning (SEL) discussion book for elementary-aged students as they return to school after Covid-19 closures
Kim Welling is a seasoned educator with 34 years of experience in early childhood education as a teacher and administrator. She has experience in trauma informed practices, restorative practice, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and Social Emotional Learning (SEL). She currently works as a Student Support Services Administrator serving at-risk students across the school district in beautiful Burlington, Washington. After 16 years as an assistant principal of an elementary school, she now supports students who are homeless (McKinney-Vento federal program), in foster care, chronically absent from school, and are truant or at risk of dropping out of school. Kim received her B.A. at Washington State University in Education and Early Childhood Development. She continued her education at Gonzaga University with a Master's degree in Administration, Curriculum, and Instruction.
