Dr. Angela Miles-Daniels seems to have it all. To those on the outside looking in she has great career, loving husband, loving children and loving family support. In spite of how things may seem her life has been full of struggle. Growing up living with different family members and in foster care while her mother spent time in prison, an her father sank deeper into drug addiction. Feeling unwanted and unloved, Angela moved through life doing her own thing and living by her own rules until she ends up pregnant at the tender age of fifteen. In Angela's Journey: Beating the Odds, Angela takes the reader on a journey through the pain of growing up with different family members and in foster care to becoming a teenage mother who struggles to raise a child and finish high school while still being a child herself; all without the direct guidance from her own mother. Using the wisdom she has gained in the years since, Angela bares her personal struggles in part one of her personal memoir. She expressively uses her experiences to inform young women real and heartfelt understanding about family, mistakes, motherhood, growing up without proper guidance, and how believing in yourself can help you persevere through anything.
