Old Testament Survey, the course book for David Sliker's class at International House of Prayer University, provides the framework for you to pursue a deep and meaningful understanding of God and His Word. Progressing from the creation of the world in Genesis to the prophetic voices that spoke a few hundred years before the coming of Jesus, David leads us through the various events of the grand drama of God's interaction with the Israelites for four thousand years of history. The events of those years, when interpreted correctly, give us an accurate understanding of the hour in which we currently live, and the reality of the need for prophetic voices in our day.The struggles of Israel at times seem to read like the stories found in today's newspapers, and the situations and lives of the Israelites often feel similar to our own. The God who was in relationship with the Israelites of the Old Testament is the same God with whom we have relationship today. In gaining understanding about the events, issues, and people of the Old Testament, we can better know, love, and understand God as we move forward into the final hours of this age.
