Maude Barlow is the National Chairperson of The Council of Canadians, Canada's largest public advocacy organization with over 100,000 members. She is a Director with the International Forum on Globalization, a San Francisco-based research and educational institution opposed to economic globalization, and co-founder of the Blue Planet Project, an international civil society movement to stop the commodification of water. Maude is the recipient of two honorary doctorates ? from Memorial University of Newfoundland and the University of Victoria in British Columbia ? and the best-selling author or co-author of thirteen books. Her latest, with Tony Clarke, is Blue Gold: The Battle to Stop Corporate Theft of the World's Water, which has been published in ten countries.
